HANDS AND FEET

"Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion is to look out to the world. Yours are the feet with which Christ is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which Christ is to bless all people now. --- TERESA OF AVILA, a Spanish mystic that lived about 500 years ago.

As Christians, we are ALL called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. The love that Christ has lavished on us should sink into our hearts and find its way out through our hands and feet. We should always be looking for ways to serve one another in love.

Too many Christians have the misconception that mission projects are reserved for missionaries only. You may be asking, "What exactly is a missionary anyways?". I'm so glad you asked.

In light of our new found knowledge of what a missionary is, what does a missionary look like.

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
~MATTHEW 28-18-20

SO, what does a missionary look like? If you are a Christian, LOOK IN THE MIRROR! We are ALL missionaries. Jesus has called us as His followers to communicate His love to a world in desperate need of Him.

If you feel God is calling you to a foreign country, that is awesome, but we all have people in our lives who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. We are to communicate the love of Christ within our individual spheres of influence. On the job, at the gym, on airplanes, at the grocery store, in class, online, anywhere we go and anyone we meet is an opportunity to share Christ's love with someone.

Each of us, may be the only Jesus somebody sees. We MUST live our lives to reflect this truth.

I want to be your hands
I want to be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
