"The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving." -Ulysses S Grant
How many reading this know and understand, that as Christians, we are at WAR! The moment we accept Christ as our Savior, the war is waged. Who are we fighting?
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
~Ephesians 6:12
Satan HATES seeing Christians who are sold out for Jesus! He HATES when the veil he has over peoples eyes is ripped and they see him for who he really is.
If we find ourselves being tempted, AWESOME! If we were on the same page as Satan he would leave us alone. When we stand for Jesus, that is when the opposition comes. When we spot the enemy in our lives, then we can begin to win this war.
Set up measures to ensure victory. Don't get online at certain times when we know temptation to look at pornography will come! Don't hang out with that group who we know will gossip (what about "prayer requests?"), or drink alcohol, or smoke pot! Seek accountability, talk to someone, dive into scripture and USE YOUR SWORD!
When we know where the temptation comes from, we hit Satan in the cookies by recognizing his stupid scheme and overcome the temptation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
ONLY when the Light of Jesus Christ pierces the darkness in our lives, will we be able to break the strangle hold of sin on our lives, and begin WINNING the war!
With each victory in this war, we keep moving forward, thus advancing the Kingdom and having lives that reflect that even through our sinful mistakes, we are loved by our Savior. That alone should encourage us to live victoriously over the temptation of sin in our lives.
Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
