ssshhhh... it's a secret

How many Christians have this problem with sin in their lives? We're willing to give all to God and serve Him until it comes to the area of our pet sins. You know, those "secret sins" that "noone" knows about. For some it may be a pornography addiction, or alcohol or drugs. For others it may be bitterness or anger. These secret sins are as various as the people hiding them from everyone around them.

We need to get real everybody. If we are gonna claim to be followers, or disciples, of Jesus, we CAN'T be closet sinners. It's easy to love Jesus when we have an audience isn't it? Who we are as Christians is not determined by what everyone else sees us doing but by what we do when we are alone and noone is looking. How we react to stressful situations. How we deal with temptation. I write this post with a broken, humbled heart as a man breaking free from the secrets. As a man choosing to follow Christ when noone is around to watch. As a man amazed at the grace and love of Jesus, who knew how broken and messed up we are and chose to save us anyways!!! To quote Perry Noble, that's why it's called grace and that's why it's so amazing!
For those of you living in "secret sin", I want to warn you. If you live in sin long enough, your sin will find you out. Please take heed of this scripture:

He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
PROVERBS 28:13
Find a friend to talk to. Talk to God. Get help. Do what you have to do in order to learn from this and STOP doing it. What good is a mistake if you don't learn anything from it? Use this sin that Satan wants to harm you with as an opportunity to grow in your relationship with Jesus. I'll leave you with a quote from Third Day:
There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus
