FAITH
Faith can be a scary thing.
It is one thing to claim to have faith in Christ. It is a whole other ball game to live a life of faith. Living in such a way that people looking on know that you are totally dependent upon God's grace and His sovereignty.
I've said many times that faith is trusting God and following Him obediently with what you know, and trusting Him and following the prompting of the Holy Spirit with what you don't know.
Anyone in scripture who ever accomplished anything great for God had to step out in faith.
It took faith for Abraham to pack up and go to....uh, well, HE DIDN'T KNOW where He was going?
It took faith for Noah to build a REALLY big boat in the desert in preparation for a flood, IN THE DESERT!
It took faith for Joshua to expect God to make the sun stand still.
Over and over again in scripture, we see enormous faith. Maybe it's not that the faith we see in scripture is so enormous, but that the faith we exercise is so small.
I heard a quote from Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC earlier that SLAYED me.
He said, “If the size of the vision that you have for your life isn’t intimidating to you then there’s a chance that its insulting to God!”
We serve a big God! He has promised to NEVER leave us or forsake us. He has NEVER given us a reason to doubt Him.
So often, we do not do what God is calling us to do because of fear.
My prayer is that in faith, we will feel the fear when God calls us to something bigger than us, and do it anyway. Trusting Him to fulfill the calling.
God wants to use you to accomplish HUGE things. He's waiting on you to take that first step.
