FIX YOUR EYES

In my walk with Christ, I have noticed that when I take my eyes off of Jesus, when I lose my focus, THAT is when sin trips me up and causes me to do the things I know not to do. Just like Peter when he got out of the boat and onto the stormy sea. (Matt. 14:22-36) While his eyes were locked on Jesus, HE WALKED ON WATER! Verse 30 says this:

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Did you catch it? When he took his eyes off of Jesus, things went south. Peter was looking at the wind and waves instead of Jesus. I feel like I'm in that position sometimes. When I am focused on Christ and what He has called me to do, I am a force to be reckoned with! Occasionally, I focus on my circumstances or my problems, that is when I get that sinking feeling.

Jesus earned the right to our utmost attention. God forgive us for EVER allowing anything to take our attention off of you! YOU alone are worthy of ALL we have to offer!!!

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
