GOD IS STILL GOOD!!!

I know I haven't posted in a while. Hopefully you all haven't missed me too bad:) This past week has been incredible. Sunday night we had S.P.A.M. (sundays pretty awesome meeting, WAHOO!). To close out "the month of love" we had a couple from the church speak to the youth group. Their names are Kurt and Hazel Vance and they have been married for 43 YEARS!!! That truly is awesome! They told us the secret to their marriage being successful for so long is to keep God at the middle of it. Wow, God is good!

On Tuesday, the whole youth group was supposed to go to Atwell Cottage to read to some little kids at Crossnore Schools, Inc.. The only people to show up were all 5 senior youth members and Reverend Hale. Despite the lack of people, we had a great time anyways. Spending that short amount of time with those kids reminded me how truly blessed we are to be able to enjoy children and their innocence. It kind of brought to mind Jesus speaking about childlike faith.

This is a picture of me and the boys I got to read with. The boy right next to me is Jonathan and he is a great kid. The one with the flag on his shirt is Christopher. He is wild but such a sweet kid. For those of you wondering why Christopher is holding a bottle of peroxide, let me explain. After he finished reading to me and while Jonathan was reading, Christopher decide he wanted to wrestle with the house dog. Big dog+little boy=not to smart. The dog scratched the side of his head and he had to be doctored up. It was such a blessing to spend that short time with those kids. Before we left the kids all prayed for us and again it reminded me of innocent, childlike faith, and that is really all God wants from us. They were just so excited that we took the time to come see them and they prayed for this month to pass quickly so we can go see them again. To be honest, the end of the month really can't get here soon enough! God is good!

Tonight I did one of the hardest things I've had to do in a long time. As crazy as I was and still partially am over Tiffany, I broke up with her tonight. I just really don't see us being anymore than friends and it would not be fair to either of us to continue in a relationship. We still plan on remaining good friends and will continue to be supportive of each other in whatever life has ahead of us.

Tomorrow night my church is going to see Casting Crowns. Other than Audio Adrenaline, Casting Crowns is one of my favorite bands ever. They have so much thelology packed into their songs it is just amazing! I AM SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! My good Nat'l Guard buddy Allen Ingram is going with me and Reverend Hale gets to see them for the 1st time live. He is so excited because of that, and he gets to surprise his group from this summer @ Cherry Grove. They don' t know he'll be there so he can't wait to surprise them. He's such a dork but if you ain't figured it out by now, he's my best bud in the whole world!

I guess that's all for now. Have a good one ya'll! BE REAL, SERVE THE KING!!!
